Something new

I did something I’ve never done before.

I jumped off “the healthy wagon.”

I am proud of myself for it.

Well not the jumping part... and lets me honest, I've done that before.

I went 4 weeks with no sugar. Then had a really “bad day.” I ate some ice cream and some other stuff.

It was triggered by a really crappy band day (that hooker was zipped tight.) So I talked to my Dad about our bet and was allowed a small reprieve to help soothe the Lady.

I know I should have reached for a protein shake, but know what? I haven’t been able to find one that doesn’t have artificial sweeteners in it, and honestly my allergy to them is getting worse. Last time I drank a protein shake it made me feel worse than I have ever felt before.  So I am working on that.

Anyway, that isn’t the BIG DEAL.

The big deal is, I didn’t let it flow over into today. I contained the mess to yesterday and today I am right back on track. Registered for crossfit for tonight and I am sugar free so far today.

Who is a badass mother? This girl.

  1. unflavored protein powder doesn't have artificial sweeteners! mybariatricpantry.com carries it, if you can't find it elsewhere! Post surgery I would mix it with chicken broth or tomato soup or juice :)

  3. I'm all about doing what works for people -- if that worked for you then great! do you have a reaction to stevia? For some reason Splenda gives me a problem but sweet-n-low is okay for me and stevia (which is a natural sugar free sweetener) does not - i try and carry stevia packets with me. Splenda gives me pretty bad muscle pain - weird. If stevia doesn't bother you maybe you can make up your own protein shake w/ some protein powder, stevia, and fruit or coco -- whatever flavoring you want....for those days you want a protein shake and don't want to do ice cream :D

  4. That's AWESOME! Usually when I fall off it's for 3-4 days (and up 3-4 lbs) after "just one" day-long sugar extravaganza. You're my hero!
