The Yellow Rhino Pledge

I'm going to let you in on a little secret, I've been thinkin' on it for a day or two now.

I had weight loss surgery.

Same surgery as a lot of my blogger friends.

The Lap Band.

You see, the secret is, that is kinda where the similarities end (other than the fact that we are all a group of badasses, fo real.)

I can make myself crazy compairing the following:

1- numbers
2- exercise programs
3- rate of weight loss
4- Pant/shirt size

Oh man, the list goes on and on.

The fact is all of our journeys with the same tool are different, because we are all different.

Some struggle with drinking their calories (alcohol and other sugary drinks), not enough protien, not enough exercise, some count carbs and protein and calories, some count just calories and protein, some just don't count... oh man, this list could go on and on.

"I'm the same hieght as her and she is 10 pounds lighter"
"She is only 5 months out and has lost 90 pounds."
"She never seems to have a cheat day and binge on the Easter candy."

Now, I love everything blogging has to offer- especially the wonderful community and support I get from you all, it is ME that does the compairing. I know we all have our struggles and our own battles to fight.

I will continue to lose weight. I will always be someone who works out (mentally I just need it and I really like how my body feels.) I will continue to be a better me.

I love my band and I am never giving up the fight against food. One day I won't have to tell myself "I just don't eat like that anymore." I will just know, but until then I will wake up everyday swinging, ready to be victorious.

I am not longer the girl that is looking for the next "fad" diet. I know the secret, and so do you all. Eat your food, don't let it eat you and get moving.

I am pledging to not compair journeys. I will call it the "Yellow Rhino Pledge."

TTT

1. This is what my Spring Break looked like...

It was fantastic. Good bye winter blues!

2. This is the newest addition to my family- meet Ellie Pmae (the p is silent, like in pneumonia) Freebush.  Gracie Lou and her are the best of friends already.

3. There has been some of this in my life... needs. to. stop.
I have been hungry all the freaking time. I am going to see my favorite Amy on Monday for a little fill. :) The band is about being proactive! If I hadn't needed help loosing weight, I wouldn't of needed a medical device in the first place. I am hoping she gives me a harsh do better talk...

4. This is me at work on Wednesday! I had my niece take the picture because I looked so dashing. My new favorite shirt.

5. My workout Wednesday face! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE CrossFit! The workouts are great, and the community is even better.

6. My arms and shoulders are becoming very toned... I may post a picture of that soon.

7. I am going to read the book LBG is giving away as soon as I can figure out how to get the damn thing to download from Amaz@n to my iPad- "first world problems."

8. I just binged on Cadbury eggs... I am not proud of this, but I am owning it and moving on. To my shame, it is following some oreos from earlier today. :( Ugh. So glad that they are off the shelves.

9.  Have I mentioned that I love Spring? I do. It seems to be very short lived around here, but it is beautiful 60 degree weather. And there has been rain. Happy dance.

10. I think there should be more hours in the day for me to do all of the things that I want to do... There should be someone I can write to about this.

-Weigh in-

I'm going to start weighing in Mondays. Which I know today is actually a Tuesday... but you know, yesterday was still Spring Break and I was busy chasing cows and what-what.

The reasoning? During the week my weight is all over the place because of the weight lifting I'm doing at crossfit and it seesm to even out on Monday after my rest day on Sunday. So there you go.

Monday's weight- 181.

Still in the 180's. I'm ok with that, but will be excited when I break back into the 170's.

At CrossFit tonight my sister-in-law said my arm muscles were impressive, made me feel awesome!

Also, locked out a 95 pound thruster- twice! Booo-yah! Don't know what a thruster is? Follow this link.

Sugar free today! /pats self on back\

Chocolate...

It doesn't solve the problem, it makes it worse.

Seems I forget that frequently.

One small victory

At a time.

One good choice.
One chocolate covered pretzel spit out.
One glass of water drank when head hunger set in.

This all happened today.

I am all suited up for my turn at the Crossfit box.

I don't want to go, I don't want to eat well today.

BUT

I am.
I am pushing through until my good decisions stack up to show real progress.
I am pushing until the sugar deamon goes to sleep.
I am pushing forward.

What battle did you win today?

Look at that...

Average sized girl...

Where did she come from? And why does my brain still tell me that I am huge? That outfit is adorable:) I have great taste.

(I'm not sure I love the boots with the dres... hindsight.)

The wedding was a great time!

TTT

1. I am so stinking tired... all the time. I think this time change has kicked my butt, big time!

2. I am not teaching school tomorrow! I am going to get up early and play cowboy with my favorite people, CrossFit, then some pamper time in prep for the ol' wedding!

3. We are getting around 30 baby calves a day... ahhh! I love spring. I will get a picture tomorrow and then I will share! My sister also has a mare that is getting ready to foal! ahhh!

4. I got a "new" dog this week. Someone my Sister knows is moving and couldn't take the dog, so she has found a new home at my house. She is settling in well and I already love her! I will post pictures of her tomorrow too! Also, Gracie Lou Freebush went to the groomer today and she looks like a million bucks! I say if I am going to pamper myself tomorrow I might as well give the girl a little pampering!

5. I have new muscles everywhere thanks to Crossfit! I can't wait until more of the fat starts to melt away....

6. When I started this journey, I just knew I wanted to be skinny. That and getting healthier is all that mattered. Ooooo! I so have a knew goal now.I want to lift heavy. I want to have muscles everywhere (not body builder ladies, I am pretty sure you have to take hormone injections to get like that... just sayin') but this journey is now about being ripped, playing hard, knowing that whatever the day throws at me, I will be able to kick in the butt!

7.  Did I mention I am tired?

8. I am jealous of Rockband Barbie and so excited for her!

9. I am also jealous of Vanessa the Banded Warrior and her vacation plans!

10. Is it Summer yet? :)
